Tucson Korea Ambassador Program Spring 2023

Each year, Asian Pacific American & Refugee Student Services (APARSS) partners with schools in South Korea to host the Tucson Korea Ambassador Program (TKAP).

Traditionally, students from South Korea would travel to Tucson in the spring semester, stay with host families and attend school alongside TUSD student ambassadors. In the summer, TUSD students would visit South Korea and learn more about the culture and education there.

Opening Ceremony: 1/17/23

Due to the pandemic, students from South Korea and students from TUSD met virtually for the spring 2023 opening ceremony.

Tombstone Field Trip: 1/20/23

Tucson Unified student ambassadors took a trip back in time to the Wild West during their visit to Tombstone, Arizona. They watched reenactments at the O.K. Corral, panned for gold and took plenty of photos to share with their Korean peers.

Desert Museum Field Trip: 1/27/23

TUSD student ambassadors took a field trip to the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, where they learned all about the unique animals and plants that call the Sonoran Desert home. They turned their experiences into PowerPoint presentations to share with the Korean student ambassadors.
